Welcome to a brand new year, full of opportunity, adventures and incredible travel journeys!
I believe with all my heart God created this world for us to see, discover, experience and enjoy. It's a beautiful creation, waiting to be explored by those who want to see it.
One of my favorite activities is to help others see the world, so I've put together my Top Ten Vacation Destinations for 2020. Without further ado, and in no particular order (drumroll please):
1. Greece
If you like gorgeous sunsets while gazing off of a cliff into the Mediterranean, amazing food, beautiful beaches, history, gorgeous resorts and relaxing spas, then Greece is where you need to be! Greece remains at the top of our travel list for a reason. And like most amazing destinations, once is never enough! You'll want to go back again!
2. Italy
I could go back again and again and still not decide what I love best... the busy historical streets of Rome, the intrinsic canals in Venice, or the rolling Tuscan hills with their incredible wineries. If you have never been to Italy, put it on your bucket list. If you've been, go back again! Each visit is a different experience, and you won't be sorry you returned.
3. Norway
This was one of my personal favorite destinations of 2019. The Norwegian Fjords are both beautiful and fascinating! Norway has the perfect mix of city, history, relaxation and adventure! Whether by land or by sea, Norway should be at the top of your travel #BucketList!
4. Hawaii
"Which island?, you say. I say, "All of them!" Having just recently visited all of the Hawaiian Islands I don't have a favorite. Each one is special and has its own unique culture. I love the North Shore on Oahu, watching the world's best surfers do their thing. On Kauai, the Na'apali Coast is one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen, and I've seen quite a few! Maui's Road to Hana remains a favorite day trip, second only to the bicycle ride down the volcano! And the Big Island, wow! Did you know that the Big Island (Hawa'ii) is the home of 11 of the 13 world's climate zones. That should tell you something about the endless possibilities of adventures on this island. So, which Hawaiian island should you visit first if you can't visit them all in the same visit? I recommend at least two at a time, and then come back for more later!
5. South Africa
Classic Travel Connection had three travel advisors in South Africa this year on safari. They saw lions, tigers (no bears), elephants, giraffes, zebra, and they all had the same thing to say about their time in South Africa, "It was life changing." We have amazing safari itineraries for anyone looking for a life changing experience.
6. Japan
The Olympic Committee chose Japan as the destination for the 2020 Olympics, why shouldn't you choose it for your next vacation? Japan truly is a 'hot' destination that has it all... cities, beaches, mountains, and even a little Disney magic!
7. Costa Rica
This amazing country has and always will be a favorite of mine. There are few other countries that have it all... mountains, rain forest, volcanoes, rivers, and beaches. Waking up to the sounds of the monkeys howling and going to sleep to the sounds of the ocean waves is truly a dream come true. Costa Rica is also the Zip Line Capital of the World! The scenery is unforgettable, the adventures are limitless, and you might even find time for a little romance along the way!
8. Turks and Caicos
Turks and Caicos will always remain at the top of my list for travel. The crystal turquoise water, the pristine white sand beaches, are unlike anywhere in the Caribbean. The best part... getting there is easy and being there is well worth the journey!
9. Alaska
Cruising, hiking, trains, float planes, glaciers, fjords, mountains, moose, bear, spawning salmon, whale watching, helicopter rides, Northern Lights... really we could go on and on. Over and over again, we say and we hear from our clients, "Alaska really is the experience of a lifetime!" Surely you don't want to miss out on something this amazing!
10. Walt Disney World
There's just something magical about "The Happiest Place on Earth"! The Disney Imagineers are constantly creating, adding and making even more and more magic, so that no matter how many times you visit, it's never the same, and it's always special. With the new Star Wars Galaxy's Edge experiences, 2020 is the perfect year to visit Disney World again, relive old memories and create new ones!
Let's get busy! We've got a lot of ground to cover! And you have a Travel Portfolio, waiting for the pages to be filled!
